The knights wore shining armor. Under their armor they wore linen shirts and pants. That was very important because it stopped the armor from embedding into their skin. They wore wool stockings that were like socks or tights for girls. Some of the padded garments were: Acetone, Arming coat, Doublet, Gambeson, and Hack Eton. The ladies, usually the lord’s wife wore beautiful things. Their dresses were made very tight to show all of their curves and others were made high to cover the neck. They also wore long tunics that went down to the heel of the foot. The dresses always had a tunic, veil or drapery. Queens and princesses wore additional long coats with lined garments. The lords also wore a lot of things that had plenty of color. The person with the tallest hat determined the greatest position. Some hats were pointed and some were short. They wore expensive robes and long cloaks and closed shoes with a point and short hair. Unlike the wealthy people, peasants didn’t have the flashy things and a lot of gold and silver. Peasants wore blouses that were made out of skin of an animal or scrapped cloth. They wore over coats and shoes or large boots. They also wore short trousers. |
